In this update of Disney's masterpiece film mixture of animation and music, new interpretations of great works of music are presented. It begins with an abstract battle of light and darkness set to the music of Beethoveen's Fifth Symphony. Then we see the adventures of a Humpback Whale calf and his pod set to 'The Pines of Rome.' Next is the humourous story of several lives in 1930's New York City, scored with 'Rhapsody in Blue.' Following is a musical telling of the fairy tale, 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier' set to Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2. Then a goofy Flamingo causes havoc in his flock with his yo-yo to the tune of the finale of 'Carnival of the Animals.' This is followed by the classic sequence from the original film, 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' starring Mickey Mouse and followed by 'Pomp and Circumstance' starring Donald Duck as a harried assistant to Noah on his Ark. Finally, we see the awesome tale of the life, death and renewal of a forest in a sequence featuring the composition, 'The Firebird.'

| Fantasy was clearly an original work of art, which is why it took so many years to make a simple call to a hearing. Director James Algar know, I know what happened there. Those who dismiss it as fluff must rethink his artistic sensibilities. Fantasia 2000 was a completely different look and texture. Yes, you can criticize the fact that the music was edited, but since MTV appeared on the scene in 1980, attention has been reduced. The pace is not everything, but at this time, prompting his film. The animation is very high. In some cases, Disney was writing the book about the new look CGI. My favorite sequence is clearly "Pines of Rome." I know that the end is a motion by the Via Appia, but have been recreated for a march of Roman soldiers, Sparticus wing, would have been much less creative than what it really did the animators. Perhaps classical music is not your taste, but before the explosion, knowing that every song I hear has a classical base. For what it's worth, I have a doctorate in musicology, so perhaps I understand a little better on the topic that the average person is in a Mosh pit. |
| I was in the massive IMAX theater with high expectations. Being a fan of the original, I wanted to see what the kids at Disney could do, now that computers and arrived fantasy-what does not. From the first frame I was interested, but not completely Fantasia/2000. But nobody can say that it takes time to get into this kind of films. Therefore, had spent an hour and I saw triangles, whales, New York and Donald Duck. And I was just in Fantasia/2000 when suddenly the credits roll. I looked at my watch and made the Fantasia/2000 Music was only 75 minutes. And that's the only thing wrong with Fantasia/2000. Fantasia (the original) has always been thought of as a Fantasia/2000 Music film in my mind. But that was a good thing. Fantasy only maintains the wonderful image that comes with the thunderous music. The DivX Movie Fantasia/2000 has swallowed all that I saw and I know that everyone gives a good impression. Nobody warned me before they Fantasia/2000 only 75 minutes. So if your going to see or rent it, just remember that fact. But moving the problem along time Fantasia/2000 is excellent, convincing, a concert theater at its best. This shows how far technology has advanced since 1940, and manages to display some of the best work from Disney's The Lion King. And also looks great on the IMAX screen. (I can not wait to see Beauty and The Beat can do) Fantasia/2000 I would recommend to anyone interested in classical music or Disney. |
